Format

This year’s Claymore Challenge will be open for any professional level riders; competitors who enter the contest will have to go through qualifying (June 23rd).  The Claymore Finals (June 25th) will be made up of 18 riders, 15 of those 18 will be chosen from the top 15 in qualifying, and the top 3 riders from 2010 will be automatically qualified  into the finals.  All pre-qualified riders must compete in qualifying to determine the seeding for the Finals.

Finals will be best of two run format.

GT Bicycles Best Trick

GT Bicycles is hosting a Best Trick Jam Friday night on Freebird for any riders entered into the Slopestyle (you do not have to be in the finals to compete in best trick). The format is simple, riders get an hour and a half starting at 7pm to session Freebird and then vote on their pick for best trick. GT will be handing out $1,000 for Best Trick.

Claymore is part of the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour and ranked as a “Gold Level” event. To be included into the FMB World Tour ranking, an FMBA membership is obligatory. Riders that are not FMBA members can compete at the Claymore Challenge, but will not be ranked in the overall list. Riders who are interested need to become a member of FMBA and receive more information.

This year’s Claymore will be one of 5 qualifiers for the Red Bull District Ride, Germany.
